Spearheaded by John Kunkel (songwriter/producer), The New Division is an LA-based tour de force. Influenced by a mix of new wave, synthpop, and dancefloor sensibilities, Kunkel has taken the tastiest slices of these genres and blended them into The New Division's signature sound. With a sound that feels comfortably connected to the past but with a momentum that fastens them to the future, at its core The New Division's custom blend of electronic adds tugging lyrics to each track, bringing satisfying emotion to the party.

On the heels 2020s LP, "Hidden Memories," The New Division's latest effort, "Sequence" takes on familiar territory for anyone familiar with the outfit's previous works. Taking sonic inspiration from 80s and 90s pop classics, "Sequence" deals with bringing someone close to you back to where they belong. As Kunkel states, "The song is really about being there for those we care and cherish. Everyone's dealt with the pandemic in their own way, but many of us are still picking up the pieces left behind for others to carry onward."

"The song is also about myself in some sense. I spent several nights last year wandering empty streets alone, wondering where the world was headed and what the future held. 'Sequence' is equally about caring for others and taking better care of ourselves."

Sequence is out worldwide March 1st, 2021 on Division 87 Records.
